Estate Appraisals

     Although we strive to assist all collectors in any way we can, our primary focus is in the area of estate appraisal and liquidation.  More specifically, we seek to assist individuals who find themselves in the position of having to make decisions about a collection when they have limited knowledge of the content and value of the items.

     This situation most often arises following the aging, illness or passing of a family member or loved one.  Generally, the eldest family member or widow is tasked with the responsibility to divide, disperse, liquidate or preserve a coin collection which they did not assemble.

     Whether the collection contains coins, currency, tokens or other numismatic articles, CCA will glady put our expertise, experience and eduction to work.  We will give you the tools to reach the decision that is best for all those involved.

     For a minimal fee we will examine and appraise your coins and produce a comprehensive written report which details the content, condition and value of the collection.  The information in this report will help you take the next step in the process as well as remove any doubt as to the contents of the collection.  And, depending on your needs, we will offer suggestions on methods to conserve, display or store your coins in a manner that will preserve their condition and value. 

     In the event your decision is to sell all or part of the collection, we can assist in directing the sale to a number of appropriate forums. Whether a negotiated private sale or a public internet auction, our efforts will help you receive a fair and satisfactory return.

In most cases, Capital Coin Appraisals will make a generous offer for the purchase of your collection.  Becasue we are not saddled with the burden of operating a retail coin shop, our monetary resources are reserved for these type of estate purchases.  This allows us to offer the highest price for your estate collection.

     In addition to our estate appraisal services, Capital Coin Appraisals provides services for those who do not need a comprehensive or formal appraisal.  We are always glad to examine a small number of your coins to evaluate their sales potential.  And, when you need to raise cash for another coin purchase or simply to help out in a pinch, CCA will make an "on the spot" offer to purchase your coins.  Of course, there is never a charge for the initial appraisal when we buy your coins.
